Eddie & Denise’s Celtic Elopement at Levis’ Corner House – A Scottish-Irish Love Story in Ballydehob

Some weddings just overflow with heart – and Eddie & Denise’s Irish Scottish elopement at the iconic Levis’ Corner House in Ballydehob was exactly that. Bursting with laughter, music, ancient Celtic rituals and the kind of love you can feel in the room, it was a day full of soul and unforgettable moments.

A West Cork Pub They’d Never Been To… But Instantly Loved

Eddie and Denise hadn’t set foot in Ballydehob before choosing it for their elopement – but when they discovered that their favourite band, Bonny Light Horseman, had recorded a few songs at Levis’, something just clicked. A perfect blend of fate and music.

And if you’ve ever been to Levis’, you’ll know – it’s not just a pub, it’s a place with soul. Cosy, characterful, full of stories in the floorboards and music in the walls. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for this laid-back, heartfelt celebration.

Kilts, Tea Dresses & A Glass Guitar

Eddie brought the Scottish flair in his traditional kilt, and Denise looked effortlessly elegant in a vintage tea-length wedding dress – the perfect mix of relaxed and refined. They were a vision together – stylish, radiant, and smiling from ear to ear.

One of the most beautiful moments of the ceremony was the coloured sand ritual – Eddie and Denise each poured sand representing their homelands into a miniature glass guitar, a nod to Eddie’s life as a musician. It was symbolic, creative, and deeply personal – a keepsake of their shared journey, literally blending two lives into one.

Celtic Traditions With Heart

This wedding was woven together with ancient Celtic rituals that grounded the day in meaning:

💍 Ring warming – their wedding rings passed from hand to hand, soaking up blessings and well-wishes from each guest.
🌊 Celtic pebble throwing – with each stone cast into the water carrying wishes into the wind.
🌿 A lovingly handmade arch, framing their vows with rustic beauty and intention.

Music, Moët, and Moments to Remember

As Denise made her entrance, Eddie welcomed her in with a serenade – singing a song from Bonny Light Horseman, of course. It was one of those rare, spine-tingling moments that felt more like a scene from a movie than real life. Pure magic.

After the ceremony, we wandered to the nearby bridge for a celebratory Moët toast – corks popped, laughter echoed, and joy overflowed.

They Laughed (A Lot) and Smiled (Even More)

From start to finish, Eddie and Denise laughed through the entire day. There wasn’t a moment where they weren’t smiling, hugging, dancing, or singing. It was infectious – the kind of joy that lifts the whole room. Their happiness set the tone for everyone, and it was a privilege to capture every cheeky giggle and heartfelt moment.

Behind the Lens (And Slightly Battered)

Now, full honesty – I arrived on the day with a fractured 10th rib and three broken vertebrae (not my finest moment). But my hero CJ, stepped in to drive me to Ballydehob and back, and was an absolute rock all day. Without CJ, I’d probably still be lying in a ditch in West Cork – so thank you, CJ, for being a legend and a laugh.

Kind Words That Hit Me Right in the Feels

A little message from Eddie that genuinely meant the world:

“Thank you so much for the amazing photos, we are both over the moon with the results. We were amazed at how you got some of those snaps, you must have an invisibility cloak. 😂 Denise is so happy …. your generosity and obvious dedication to perfection has shone through. A big thanks to CJ also, you were so kind and a joy to be around.”

Eddie and Denise – it was genuinely a joy. You two made the whole day feel easy, warm, and full of heart. That laughter? Still ringing in my ears.
