West Cork wedding venue oozes romantic, relaxed, informal elegance Drishane House.

Best wedding advice ever! Keep It Simple and Personal to make your wedding especially for you

Lisa and Iain marry at St. Michael’s Church, Rathbarry, and Drishane House, West Cork

These two gorgeous humans were married in West Cork on the 13th September 2019 with a ceremony at one of my favourite little churches St Michaels Church, Rathbarry, County Cork with 150 guests. The ceremony was followed by an elegant and beautiful reception at the stunningly located  Drishane House .

For Lisa and Iain, their west cork wedding day was always about the marriage. “We just wanted to enjoy the day and make sure our friends and family felt relaxed. We are both lovers of the sea and it was important that we could see and smell the sea from the venue. When we saw Drishane  with the beautiful views and gardens we knew it was here we wanted to have our ceremony.” Drishane is one of several incredible west cork wedding venues with stunning views!

And they made sure to do the whole day their way. West Cork relaxed and easy inclusive wedding day. “Having family and friends so involved is what made the day so special. Our mums doing all the flowers (some of which we are now growing in our garden).

Ali doing all the invites and table planning and décor and Lucy making our cake. I especially loved that Tim was playing as I walked down the aisle. It just made the day so personal and special.” Keeping it personal and simple is about the best advice ever, in my opinion.

Finally, here’s some great advice from Lisa. “Enjoy every minute of it – as it goes so quickly!

Also, make sure to take 30 mins on your own after the ceremony, it’s nice to catch up away from all the craziness.” I’d also add, why not make that an hour and factor in some fun with your photographer snapping shots that will put other’s wedding day photographs in the shade? West Cork has some of the most stunning backdrops in Ireland. It is a shame not to use them with your photographer.
