Is there anything more precious than having your work appreciated so much that you end up being booked by the couple’s family too? Years ago, I had the pleasure of being a part of Alan and Eanna’s Cork wedding. His brother Seanie and gorgeous fiancee Sonia loved how I portrayed the wedding, my style and my approach, so when it was time to plan their iconic day, their immediate choice was me! I was beyond honoured when I received their message and wholeheartedly accepted!

Even though their West Cork wedding was postponed due to Covid, the couple waited patiently. Their goal was to have 180 of their loved ones attend their special day, and all I can say is that it was totally worth the wait. Because I did his brother’s wedding, I already knew a lot of the guests as it was so local. It truly felt like reconnecting with a family!

Before the ceremony, Sonia and Seanie spent the morning getting ready. Even though they both looked incredibly beautiful, I was in awe of Sonia’s dress and crown. The intricate detailing of her styling was out-of-this-world beautiful!

When it was time to tie the knot, they headed for the St Patrick’s Cathedral, Skibbereen, where they hosted their grand and stunning ceremony. It was followed by no receiving line, so we headed straight to capture family photos. That allowed us more time for their intimate session at Lough Hyne, Barlogue pier. This was the location where the couple had their first date and got engaged. It was super meaningful to them which made it even more special! If you are wondering where to have your own wedding portraits taken, this may give you a wonderful idea.

After that, it was time to celebrate their union at the Dunmore House Hotel in Clonakilty, Cork. As I previously mentioned, the atmosphere was so welcoming that one could feel a real sense of community and family support. With sentimental speeches and a cosy ambience, Sonia and Seanie marked this special chapter of their life.
